Before placing an international order

International food and grocery deliveries may be affected by local import rules, courier requirements, customs inspections and destination-country charges. Please read this page carefully before checkout.

Do you offer international delivery?

Yes. Nicol Retailer offers international delivery to selected countries where suitable courier options are available at checkout.

Delivery options, shipping charges and available services are shown during checkout based on the delivery country and the products in your basket.

  • International delivery is available to selected destinations only.
  • Delivery options are shown at checkout where available.
  • Shipping charges are calculated before payment.
  • Some products may be restricted depending on destination and product type.

Which products can be shipped internationally?

International delivery is limited to selected ambient, non-chilled and non-frozen products that are suitable for overseas transit.

Suitable products may include shelf-stable packaged foods, dry goods, pantry products and other non-perishable items where international shipping is available.

  • Ambient pantry items.
  • Dry goods.
  • Shelf-stable packaged foods.
  • Selected non-perishable grocery products.

Important: Product availability for international delivery may depend on the destination country, courier restrictions, product type, packaging requirements and local import rules.

Why are chilled and frozen products restricted?

Chilled and frozen products are not available for international delivery because overseas shipping can involve longer transit times, customs inspections, courier handling and unpredictable delays.

Once an order leaves the UK, we cannot guarantee that chilled or frozen food will remain at the required temperature during international transit. For food safety and quality reasons, these products are restricted to suitable UK delivery services only.

  • Frozen products are not available for international delivery.
  • Chilled items may also be restricted due to transit time and temperature-control limitations.
  • Fresh or temperature-sensitive products may be unavailable for overseas checkout.

How long does international delivery take?

International delivery times vary depending on the destination country, courier network, customs processing, local delivery services and seasonal demand.

Any delivery estimate shown at checkout is an estimate only and is not guaranteed. Customs inspections or destination-country processes may cause delays outside our control.

  • Delivery times vary by country and courier route.
  • Tracking information will be provided where available.
  • Customs checks may delay delivery without notice.
  • Seasonal demand and local courier disruption may affect delivery times.

Customs duties, local taxes and import charges

International orders may be subject to customs inspections, import duties, VAT, local sales tax, clearance fees or courier handling charges in the destination country.

These charges are set by the destination country and are payable by the recipient. They are not included in Nicol Retailer product prices or shipping fees unless expressly stated at checkout.

Your courier may contact you before or during delivery if customs duties, import taxes or handling fees must be paid before the parcel can be released.

Customer responsibility: Nicol Retailer does not control destination-country customs charges and cannot advise on the exact amount payable. Please check with your local customs office before ordering if you are unsure.

What if my parcel is refused, returned or held by customs?

A parcel may be delayed, refused, held, returned or destroyed by customs or courier services where import requirements are not met, charges are unpaid, information is missing or the goods are restricted in the destination country.

Where an international order is refused by customs, returned due to import restrictions, undeliverable because of incorrect address details, or rejected because local duties or taxes are unpaid, we may be unable to issue a refund, particularly where the goods are food products that cannot be resold.

  • Please provide accurate delivery details, including telephone number and any required local tax or identification number.
  • Please respond promptly to courier or customs requests.
  • Please pay any destination-country charges promptly where required.
  • Please check local import restrictions before placing your order.

Your responsibility before ordering

By placing an international order, you accept that overseas delivery is subject to local import rules, customs decisions, courier handling and destination-country charges.

Before ordering, we recommend that you:

  • Check whether the products can be legally imported into your country.
  • Check whether any import permit, tax number, identity document or customs declaration may be required.
  • Confirm whether import duties, VAT, local sales tax or clearance fees may apply.
  • Use a complete and accurate delivery address.
  • Provide a valid telephone number and email address for courier contact.
  • Review your order carefully before checkout.
