For the Hot Dogs 4 hot dog buns hot dogs Optional Toppings and Accompaniments:- Grated cheddar cheese- Chopped fresh coriander- Sour cream or Greek yoghurt- Sliced avocado- Lime wedges
Prepare the Bean Chili Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the minced garlic, tomato puree and chopped red bell pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3minutes until the peppers are tender.
Add the kidney beans, black beans, and diced tomatoes to the pan. Stir in the chili powder and cumin. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Lower the heat and let the chili simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chilli thickens and the flavours meld together.
Assemble the Hot Dogs While the chilli is simmering, grill or fry the sausages until they are cooked through and slightly crispy on the outside.
Place each cooked sausage in a bun. Generously spoon the bean chilli over each sausage.
